What is downtime?
Downtime is a duration of time where the party isn’t adventuring. for example, the party might need a week of downtime to recuperate after a mission, research information relating to an in universe topic, or craft a specific item. Typically between sessions there will be a few days of downtime depending on what the players want.
List of activities
- Crafting: You can craft various things, such as consumables (Potion of Healing, caltrop, Net), weapons and armour, and spell scrolls.
- For more information, visit Crafting.
- Tracking down items: Certain items might be desired, but of unknown location. players can spend some downtime to find the location of a certain item - such as an uncommon magic item that helps with stealth. This will either be from a shop (such as Timothies Travelling Turtles), or in a location that may or may not become a quest to fetch the item.
- A common / Uncommon / Rare item in a shop would be publicly advertised, so might only take a long rest to find.
- However, there might be rumors of a similar item in the nest of a dragons’ hoard, depending on rarity, this could take a few days to find a location on and for me to prep an adventure around.
- Skill training
